Our day begins as early as 7:30 AM in the Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa, echoing with centuries of spiritual devotion and where golden domes meet azure skies. As we take advantage of the rich canvas of photographic opportunities, we will also get acquainted with the politics and current affairs that affect it.
We would then head out through the narrow alleys of the Muslim Quarter Market. Here, every turn reveals a new scene, a burst of colors, the scent of spices, and the vibrant interactions of locals and merchants. We will practice street photography and approaching people for impactful portraits.
Around noon we’ll indulge in a meal of authentic local dishes – another reflection of diversity and richness that have graced this land.
In the afternoon, the journey continues through the historic path of the Via Dolorosa (Jesus’ road of Agony), leading you to the revered Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The church – the site believed to be where Jesus was crucified and resurrected- offers ample photo opps. Visiting the different parts of the church would train us in seeing light and using low light settings. As we learn the place’s history, we’ll also give thought to creating story-telling wide-angle photos.
The Western Wall, our last stop, would bring us full circle with closely engaging with believers of all three major monotheistic religions. The Wall, a living testament to millennia of prayer and pilgrimage, offers thoughtful scenes of prayers, reverence and worship.
Our day concludes at 4:00 PM, leaving you with a rich portfolio of experiences and a memory card filled with the essence of the holy city.
Tour options:
* The Church could also be visited at 6 AM, offering a more serene ambiance with fewer people around and a chance to witness the morning mass.
** A half-day tour option is available, tailored to offer you a rich experience in a shorter time frame.
*** A similar tour could be taken in the afternoon and into the evening, revealing different scenes and offering different light.
