At 6:30 am, we’ll start our day at the Jaffa port where we’ll get acquainted with the local fishermen and their daily routines. This early morning setting offers great portrait and street photography opportunities and a glimpse into the authentic working life at the port, where the trade has been passed on through the generations.
As the city wakes up, we’ll stroll to Old Jaffa – an impressive maze of narrow alleys, historic churches and lookouts offering views over Tel Aviv. As we shoot, I’ll take you to key sites that hold historical, cultural and religious meaning, such as the export of Jaffa oranges or the home of Simon the Tanner.
Next, we’ll venture to Neve Tzedek, a neighborhood that stands as a testament to the early Jewish settlers who ventured outside the Jaffa walls. Here, I’ll show you streets lined with well-preserved buildings, a perfect spot for lifestyle and architectural photography that capture the essence of Tel Aviv’s history meshed with modernity. This would also be great timing to stop at a local restaurant to refresh, go over photos and give some feedback.
Our journey will continue to Rothschild Boulevard, a bustling street that showcases the vibrant life of the city. As one of the main arteries of Tel Aviv, it offers a variety of photographic opportunities, from environmental portraits to street photography, Encapsulating the spirit of the city where it was founded.
In the early afternoon we’ll head to the beach, as it fills up with volleyball players, joggers and tourists enjoying the coastline. It would offer us the opportunity to use some high-speed shutters to showcase the lively, outdoor culture of Tel Aviv. I’ll point out the best spots to capture dynamic scenes as your day of photography comes to a close.
Tour options:
* A half-day tour option is available, tailored to offer you a rich experience in a shorter time frame.
** A similar tour could be taken in the afternoon and into the evening, revealing different scenes and enabling us to practice shooting under very different light conditions.
*** The tour could be modified by request to include other sites, such as the busy and colorful Carmel market or going to the very hip Florentin neighborhood to meet some interesting characters.
Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of “de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum” (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..”, comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
