Benin: of Voodoo, Slavery and Music

Nestled in West Africa, Benin stands as one of only two nations in the world where Voodoo is the official religion.

Annually in January, the vibrant Voodoo festival takes place, featuring an array of ceremonies brimming with dance, music, trance rituals, sacrificial rites, and a riot of colors.

Embarking on this journey as a videographer and writer, I documented the event, returning with a trove of stories, a cache of videos and photos, and profound insights about this ancient culture. You are invited to an exhilarating voyage that will transport you beyond the familiar, enabling you to discover the allure of a religion that has been unfairly maligned for generations.
